Mideast Peace = Peace of Jerusalem = World Peace
Answers don’t make sense until intelligent questions have been asked. Have you ever asked a Jewish friend: “What kind of Messiah are Jews expecting? A spiritual person? A military person? A political person? Will he or she be a World Redeemer? A World Healer? A World Teacher? A World Leader? A World Conqueror? A World Banker?” Peers, have you noticed? When we ask important questions about things that truly matter, an everyday conversation can be turned into a worthwhile learning experience.
Do you have a Muslim friend … on-line or off-line … whom you can ask: “Who is the 13th Iman?” The story is told in various Islamic Traditions, sometimes with slight variations, and they’re wonderful to hear. One Muslim might answer: “The 13th Iman … or “The One” … or “The One Who Is To Come” will be sent by God to restore Islam as the dominant faith. The One will not be The Prophet, for The Prophet has already come (Mohammed).” Another, more enlightened Muslim might use different words: “There is One coming who will be sent by God who will explain Islam in such a way that the whole world will be able to understand.” (The word “Islam” means “submission”, that is, A Muslim’s submission to the one God.) Some say that The One has already come but is in hiding. It is “as tho” he is asleep. He does not know yet that he is The One. But he soon will be awakened, by the cry of a Persian Peacock, and he will begin his mission in Jerusalem. Peers, have you noticed? Islam is the most inclusive of the three Abrahamic Faiths. Christians and Jews should be so generous.
The Zeitgeist is evolving. We’re seeing the beginnings of the Messianic Age, and Christians are participating in it. The Mind of Christ is incarnating in the minds and hearts of Christians every chance that it gets: Revelation. Jews are participating in the Messianic Age, as well. Every day more and more Righteous Jews are remembering the Law of Moses. And they’re standing up and speaking out for justice in the Holy Land. And whether or not Jews are aware of it yet, they have a teacher with credentials who can lead: Uri Avnery (03:29). Uri’s e-mail address is: email@example.com…. It was the Arab World that took the initiative to make this the Messianic Age. Muslims have published a most amazing document: A Common Word. There’s a postscript.
P.S. I once had a learning experience having a conversation with a young Jewish fellow in his 40s. I asked about the Jewish Messiah using the words I used above. He talked non-stop for twenty minutes. Then he told me abruptly that he resented my question. I responded immediately: “No offense was intended, so I hope no offense will be taken.” I was sincere. I wasn’t trying to outsmart him. He wasn’t satisfied, tho. He thought I owed him an apology. I honestly didn’t think I owed him an apology. He began showing a wee bit of anger (in his eyes and voice) which was his way of trying to put me on the defensive. When I saw smoke coming out of his ears I decided it was time to relieve the tension. I reminded him that Jesus, the Messiah of Christians, was a Jew. That satisfied him for a little while. Then he said something about the situation in the Holy Land that really pissed me off, and my spontaneity got the best of me. I heard myself asking: “Where is it written that the long-expected Messiah of the Jews won’t be a Gentile?” He got so pissed that we agreed to change the subject. We still see each other once in a while. I’m still hoping he’ll have an answer to my first question. For himself if not for me.
Let us not jump to conclusions. Let us remember how alarmed we all were when we were told that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. Which, as it turned out, was not true. Let us keep our heads this time and ask questions. The highlights in BBC’s report are mine: “Unnamed US officials told journalists that the Israeli embassy in Washington was also to have been attacked.” Who are these “unnamed” US officials? Where did the faulty intelligence information about Iraq’s WMDs originate?

The US secretary of state has called for a “very strong message” to be sent to Iran, after allegations of a plot to kill the Saudi ambassador to the US.
Hillary Clinton said Washington was preparing new penalties against Iran, which is already subject to a variety of international sanctions.
Two Iranians were charged over the plot which US officials said implicated Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The US also issued a worldwide alert warning of more threats to US interests.
“The US government assesses that this Iranian-backed plan to assassinate the Saudi ambassador may indicate a more aggressive focus by the Iranian government on terrorist activity against diplomats from certain countries, to include possible attacks in the United States,” the alert said.
It urged Americans residing and travelling abroad to review the information available when making travel plans.

Comic Relief for a World that’s Insisting: NO MORE WARS
Michelle is delighted with Dante’s e-mail today. Michelle: Hon, Dante brought me up to date on his grandmother’s health. President: I didn’t know that Dante has a grandmother. Why didn’t he tell me? Michelle: Well, I asked him to tell us about his family, and he did. His grandmother is obviously a fascinating woman. She was working as a local peace activist to FREE PALESTINE before Dante was born. She’s a Septuagenarian now and lives in a nursing home. But she’s got a lap top, and she’s participating in the ISD in C. President: The ISD in C? Michelle: Yes, she’s participating in the International Spring Debate in Cyberspace. Dante visits her on week-ends. When the weather is nice he takes her on outings.
President: My Granny had a positive influence on my life. Michelle: As did mine. Dante says that his Granny has an international mailing list. He says her IML is probably as extensive as his own. President: And? Michelle: And she networks with more people now than she did when she worked off-line. It was Dante’s Granny who introduced him to the writings Edward Said and Uri Avnery and Alison Weir. President: I’ve always admired Senior Citizens who are politically astute. Their standpoints of view are …. well, mature. Their insights have been seasoned by experience. And their perspectives give one a sense of continuity with the past. Michelle: Dante says it was his Granny who persuaded him that you’re a man who’s got the “wherewithal” to outsmart Benjamin Netanyahu once and for all. She believes that with a little help from your supporters (like him) you can figure out a way to do it. President: She trusts me. Those words are nice to hear. Michelle: Dante’s Granny says you’ll need international support when you get down to the nitty-gritty of outsmarting Bibi. (pause) She’s right, Hon. You certainly won’t get support from Congress once Congress figures out what you’re doing under their very noses. AIPAC will make sure of that. See: www.aipac.org….
Michelle: Dante wants to know if you’re open to a few suggestions this morning. President: I might as well be. I’m sure I’m going to hear them. Michelle: Dante suggests that if you get elected to a second term as President, that you might consider appointing Chuck Hagel (00:24) as your Secretary of State. President: What does he suggest I do with Hillary? Michelle: Perhaps you can persuade Hillary to serve as your Vice President. She’ll enjoy presiding over the US Senate, breaking tie votes, etc. President: What about Joe Biden? I can’t just throw Joe under a bus. Michelle: Dante suggests that Joe could represent the United States as our Ambassador to the United Nations. President: How many more suggestions does Dante have today? I hate to say it, but the lad is beginning to sound… well, naive. Michelle: He suggests that you not worry if the American People choose not to return you to the White House for a second term. You might be more effective working at the United Nations than you are in the Oval Office anyhow. President: Dante thinks I’ll be more effective as UN Secretary General than I am as the President of the United States? Michelle: Well, I assume that’s the position he has in mind. Dante says you should read this article and weep with the angels: New Polling Data Shows Americans Overwhelmingly Support Engagement at the UN. There’s a postscript.
Note: It’s not always easy to understand critical matters from a perspective other than one’s own, but should we not try? Is there any truth to the headline of this article? Peace, Roy

The West is trying but failing to instil “Iranophobia,” Iran’s supreme leader said Thursday in remarks that appeared to be prompted by, but did not directly address, US allegations of a thwarted Tehran-sponsored assassination plot.
“The repeat of ineffective and stupid methods by hapless and distracted policymakers in the West (to spread) Iranophobia will again bear no result,” Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in an army base in the western city of Kermanshah, the official IRNA news agencyreported.
Khamenei added that Iran’s arch-foe, the United States, was caught in a “quagmire” of its own creation because of its “wrong policies and performance.”
The all-powerful leader did not explicitly respond to US allegations that Iranian government officials were behind a plot to kill the Saudi ambassador to Washington.
His remarks were made just before US President Barack Obama demanded accountability from the top levels of the Iranian government over the alleged plot.
