• Israel and Iran have traded heavy blows for the third consecutive day as the death toll climbs in both countries.
• Iran’s top diplomat has accused Israel of crossing a “red line” by targeting its nuclear sites, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned Iran will pay a “heavy price” for targeting civilians.
• US President Donald Trump has said “many calls and meetings” are now taking place to broker a peace agreement between the two sides.
Israel and Iran have launched multiple waves of missile strikes at each other for the third successive day, as the conflict between the two sides escalates.
It came as US President Donald Trump urged the two countries to “make a deal” and said it was “possible” for the United States to become militarily involved in the conflict.

Mr Trump also reportedly vetoed a plan presented by Israel to the US to kill Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to US officials familiar with the matter.
Israel and Iran both launched daytime strikes on each other on Sunday, with air raid sirens and booms heard in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv in the evening.
