Mustafa Hijazi lost five members of his family during Israel’s latest deadly attack in Lebanon.
Among the dead are his relatives Elham Halal, her daughter-in-law Haneen and her brother Raef, and Elham’s two grandchildren, five-year-old Celine and three-year-old Eileen.
They were killed when an Israeli air strike hit their home in Merouaniyeh village in south Lebanon.
Elham’s husband, Hussein Halal, survived because he was outside during the bombing.
Thousands have fled southern Lebanon since Israel launched hundreds of air strikes towards the region, killing 558 and injuring thousands.
The Israeli military said it warned civilians to flee the area before launching an operation it said was aimed at hitting Hezbollah infrastructure.
It was the deadliest day of the cross-border conflict since the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war, according to Lebanon’s health ministry.
Mr Hijazi, a Sydney-based filmmaker, said he had not slept since he received the news about his family last night.
