Is the Gaza Genocide a Holocaust?

I’m republishing below the full version of an article by Mr Anas Zubedy who is a committee member of the ‘International Movement for a Just World’ (JUST). Mr Zubedy notes that the current death toll in Gaza is significantly less than other genocides that are referred to as ‘Holocausts’. I note though that the number of deaths is currently disputed, with some studies suggesting the figure may be closer to 500,000 than the more broadly accepted 50,000. The US Veto Against Gaza Is a Disgrace to Humanity

On 4 June 2025, the United States blocked a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate, unconditional, and permanent ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. The US claimed that the resolution failed to condemn Hamas or demand its disarmament. This was the fifth US veto related to Gaza since October 2023. Bishop Atallah Hanna, Archbishop of Sebastia of the Greek Orthodox Church, says that the veto is a “new disgrace to humanity”. The American U.N. Veto Is a New Disgrace to Humanity. The latest press release from my friend, Dr Chandra Muzaffar, President of the International Movement for a Just World (JUST). Dave CARNAGE IN GAZA AND GLOBAL 195.
