• Hamas is accusing Israel of violating the fragile ceasefire deal in Gaza by delaying the release of more than 600 Palestinians from Israeli jails.
• Earlier on Saturday local time, six Israeli hostages were freed by Hamas in Gaza to jubilant scenes in Israel.
• The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas is due to expire in just over a week, and little progress seems to have been made on reaching a new deal.
Hamas is accusing Israel of violating the fragile Gaza ceasefire by delaying the release of more than 600 Palestinians from Israeli jails.
The group was due to be freed in exchange for six Israeli hostages, who were handed over by Hamas in Gaza on Saturday morning local time.
Late into Saturday evening, buses carrying the Palestinians out of jails were still parked inside the high-security compounds.
Among the group to be released are 51 Palestinians serving life sentences for serious crimes, including one man who has spent more than 45 years behind bars.
Nael Barghouti was jailed in the late 1970s for the killing of an Israeli bus driver, before he was released in a 2011 prisoner swap, and then jailed again for terror offences.
